Rikskonsert tour in September !

Each year at Båtstøstranda in the Oslofjord they arrange a midsummer festival with some new and interesting artists. The surroundings where excellent.

About thousand people saw Mulens Portland Combo with Askil Holm and Kurt Nilsen pay tribute to their favourite artists like The Rolling Stones, The Doors, Bob Dylan and Stevie Wonder. A very special night !

Last report from Finnmark with picture gallery

Now we are finally home after 14 days in Finnmark. We had a lot of fun, and I´m coming back with my band this summer to play 3 shows in Finnmark. Midnattsrocken in Lakselv and Varanger Festivalen in Vadsø are confirmed. I have made a picture gallery where you can see a lot of pictures from the trip.

Tour report vol. 5

Great shows, scooter ride and concerts in Vadsø

I´ve spent the whole weekend in Kirkenes and Vadsø, and the sparetime has been used on concerts and scooterdriving. On friday it was a great concert in Kirkenes and i appeared as a guest on a Stevie Wonder song, and saturday it was two fabulous concerts in Vadsø. First "Motif", a jazzquintet with Mathias Eick and Håkon M. Johansen in the band. An hour with experimental jazz. really good. After the show we went to "So´key" where we saw "Minor Majority" do a really good show.

Sunday morning started with a scooter trip for six hours in the mountains around Vadsø. Bård Inge from the local sound company in Vadsø took me with him on this exciting trip. Second time for me on a scooter and we drove 130 kilometers in three hours. Look out for pictures in the a new and updated picture gallery.

Only two days left of the tour, and we really look forward to the last concerts ! See you !

Great reviews, shitty hotel and Kjøllefjord Rock City

Now are soon finished with our second week here in Finnmark. We have been to some really exotic places, lived on a really shitty hotel in Berlevåg, and got a lot of new friends in Mehamn and Kjøllefjord. Thanks to Jon Anders and Ørjan for a pleasant stay !

We played fotball with the local team in Mehamn. Really exciting. Now we are in Båtsfjord, and Askil is staying in Kirkenes to finish some demos of new songs.

Cream of the Crop - Tour 2004

New dates with Cream of the Crop this summer

Cream of the Crop is touring this summer. Gebhardt replaces Martin Horntveth while Jaga Jazzist is in USA and Canada on tour this summer. Jørgen Munkeby (ex-Jaga Jazzist, Shining) is playing saxophone on this summers line up, and look out for guests on the shows.

Report from the school concert tour

Now we´re on the road again. Playing concerts every day, listening to Aimee Manns album "Lost in Space", Hellbillies new album, reading Michael Moore books and playing snooker. That´s what it´s all about right now. We travelled with "Nordlys" between Honningsvåg and Kjøllefjord, and the nature is amazing up here.

The concerts are really great and the students sing along with the songs. I bought "Magnolia" on DVD today and we´re going to see it tonight. See you soon !

Report from club concert tour

Now we´re have a few days of after a really great club tour in Vardø, Kirkenes and Vadsø. Daniel and I played together with Erlend, Yngve and Trond from Kirkenes and we had some funny concerts with some of my stuff and some cover versions of old The Doors, Stevie Wonder and Bob Dylan songs.

The tour was produced with Musikk i Finnmark who has done a very good job promoting and setting up the shows for us. Thanks !

Now we have 8 days left on the school tour and the show is really growing and the students really enjoy the songs. Watch out for reviews of the concerts and interviews from Finnmarken.

New show: Singer-Songwriters - Past and Present

We´ve been in Finnmark for two days now and we´ve had a great time here. We´ve been practicing with the local band, and we played one concert in Vardø with them last night. Very exciting. We´ve played three shows at the schools and the kids are very excited about the show.

The new songs we brought on the tour works very well, and we really look forward to the rest of the tour. It´s beatifull up here !

Cream of The Crop - Headliner at Kongsberg

Askil and Morten is headlining Kongsberg Jazz

Cream of the Crop with members from Jaga Jazzist, Motorpsycho, Hellbillies and The Askil Holm Band was one of the most successfull concerts at Øya Festivalen last year.

This summer the band is doing a few, but very interessting festivals and concerts. The first festival to be confirmed is Kongsberg Jazz Festival on wedensday the 30th of June. Bjørn Berge plays first and The Cream is ending the night.

Working on new songs in Praha !

New songs for forthcoming album and vacation

Me and Martin Hagfors is working on new material for the new album. Right now we stay at "Hotel Harmony" in Praha with a digital recorder, lots of good beat poet books, old The Band albums, the new Mattias Hellberg album which is fantastic and a lot of new songs.

We have recorded demos and we are heading for the studio in Norway this spring. One of the songs that is recorded has the working title "Where the angels sleeps" and was played on Blå on the tour ending.

On friday the 27th of february the Daydream Receiver Tour has reached its end. One year with over 100 concerts with my band and acoustic solo concerts after the album is finished, and we are starting on the album as soon as the tour is finished.

First report from Japan !

Tour-report from Japan Tour 2003

Now we have arrived Tokyo in Japan. It is amazing. We´ve spent two days here. We have been sleeping, seen a Motorpsycho concert, seen Askil Holm posters, CDs and videos on the big screen in the biggest music store in Japan. Moonlanding video appearing on MTV in Japan !

MTV has started to screen the musicvideo Moonlanding taken from the coming release of "The Seven Days in the Sun" in Japan. As of today the video will be getting frequent airing time. Askil has produced the video himself together with director Ole Sivertsen from Oslo. So if you live in Japan keep an eye out !

Askil Holm music in a new Norwegian movie !!

"Kvinnen i midt liv" is the new big movie from the famous actors Thomas Giertsen and Ane Torp Dahl with the director Alexander Eik and producer John M. Jacobsen (Veiviseren and more)

The song "Daydream Receiver" is used in the TV and Cinema trailers for the movie and the same song is used in 25 seconds in a funny scene with Thomas Giertsen.

The movie is out on the 24th of September and Askil will appear together with actors and director on the premiere in Oslo on the 23th and in Trondheim on the 24th of September.

A new member in The Askil Holm Band
Daniel Hovik on keyboards is the new member in The Askil Holm band. Daniel is an old friend, and he played in Askils old band "Attack". He plays in the band "Hugo" and the bands are playing together in Kristiansand this summer.

Apache Studios !
Since I was a young kid I´ve always wanted to start a studio. Now the idea has become reality. It´s just outside of Namsos, and it´s an old cabin from 1850. The idea is to preproduce my next album and maybe some other bands. Watch out for pictures from the work with the studio.

Harald Zwart premiere in Norway
Agent Cody Banks has reached 3,3 million movie viewers in USA. Now the movie is ready for Europe, and the premiere is set to be early this summer.

Back from a long tour
